Kaithal: Now, higher officials to adopt villages for development

On the pattern of Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna, now the district officials will adopt villages for development . The district administration has decided that the senior officials posted in the district will adopt one village each for proper development, and in the first phase, around 12 villages will be adopted under this scheme.

Deputy commissioner (DC) KM Pandurang on Wednesday said that the decision was taken by the state government, according to which the officials, like members of parliament, would come forward for the speedy development of the villages.

The DC said that the officials were asked to prepare a blueprint for the development of selected villages and monitor the works on regular intervals. The officials, who will adopt the villages, include sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs), deputy superintendents of police (DSPs), district development and panchayat officers (DDPOs), chief medical officers (CMOs), senior medical officers (SMOs), district food and supply controllers (DFSCs), district education officers (DEOs), district revenue officers (DROs), superintending engineers of public works department (buildings and roads), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) as well as irrigation department.

Meanwhile, district development and panchayat officer Surinder Kumar has adopted Chandana village under this scheme.
