Accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of deviating from its principles, Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram’s sister Swaran Kaur has distanced herself from it.

She said the AAP had ignored loyal and hardworking workers in ticket distribution. She even refused to meet AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who is on a three-day visit to Punjab.

Kaur, who is also chairperson of the Kanshi Ram Charitable Foundation, had promised Kejriwal to support the AAP in assembly elections when he visited Pirthipur Bunga village, the birthplace of Kanshi Ram, in March this year.

Alleging that Kejriwal had no love for Punjabis and his only aim was to get power by exploiting the Dalit vote bank, Kaur said: “It has become like any other political party. Kejriwal has sacked all honest people, including Sucha Singh Chhotepur.”
