Karnal admn launches e-appointment system for learner licence

The district administration has launched an e-appointment system for vehicle registration and driving licence making Karnal the first district in Haryana to offer this smart solution to citizens and get rid of the queues and touts at the local secretariat. Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched the programme on Saturday.

The district administration has launched an e-appointment system for vehicle registration and driving licence making Karnal the first district in Haryana to offer this smart solution to citizens and get rid of the queues and touts at the local secretariat. Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched the programme on Saturday.

Under this, people can get an appointment by filing an e-application at www.karnal.gov.in or http://ams.edishakarnal.in.
A brain-child of deputy commissioner J Ganesan an individual has to click on the 'schedule appointment' button on the website and the applicant can choose date and time as per his convenience.

"Up to 150 appointments will be allotted for Tuesday and Thursday for time slots between 2pm-5 pm. On getting a confirmed online appointment for learners' licence, an applicant is required to remain present at the learner licence section on the ground floor of the new building at mini-secretariat half an hour prior to the allotted time," the DC added.

Ganesan has exhorted people to utilise the transparent system to weed out corruption and bring in administrative efficiency in the licensing branch. After the system is up and running, a person will have to a test on a computer and furnish other details at the given window. Rejection or issuance of license will be done on spot on the basis on one's test points.

Those who have scored six or more points are declared passed and others failed to secure minimum points may re-appear for the test after seven days. Successful candidates will receive their learner licence through speed post.

The process
