A group of Sikhs came out in support of the former militant Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who has been fasting in Ambala to secure release of Sikh prisoners who have completed their jail terms.
Sikh activists held a protest march and submitted a memorandum to Karnal deputy commissioner.
Khalsa is on hunger strike since November 14 and is surviving only on water.
Paramjit Singh Pannu, a social activist from Karnal, said demand of Khalsa was legitimate and the President should intervene in releasing the Sikhs from different jails.
"It is a question of human rights and we ensure full support to Khalsa in his fight for justice," said Pannu after the protest march.
