The iconic Maruti WagonR car (DL 9C G 9769) of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal was damaged by two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants here on Monday evening. Two AAP activists were inside the car when its front windshield was broken, but no one sustained any injury.

AAP spkesperson Bhupinder Kumar told HT that party's Rohtak candidate Naveen Jaihind got down from the car at his office after touring Bahadurgarh area of Jhajjar district during the day and the car was handed over to party activist Siddharth Malik, who was supposed to park it in Sector 1.

When Malik and another activist reached near the Jat Bhawan, two motorycle-borne youths signalled them to stop. When the car was stopped, they hit the front windshield with an iron rod and fled from the spot.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Naveen Jaihind said that the police should ensure law and order. "Such attacks can't scare us from fighting against the corrupt system," he said. A complaint in this regard has been lodged at the Urban Estate police station.

Kejriwal, who is contesting from Varanasi against BJP pick for prime minister's post Narendra Modi, spared the car for Jaihind who didn't have a vehicle for campaigning. Interestingly, the car was gifted to Kejriwal by one Kundan Sharma in 2013.
