Khaira accuses Badal of shielding 'ministers' involved in drug racket
Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee's spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira said here on Wednesday that Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has refused a CBI investigation into the drug racket involving former DSP Jagdish Singh Bhola because he wanted to shield his ministers allegedly involved in the case.

Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, Khaira said Bhola had stated that three Punjab cabinet ministers were also involved in the multi-crore synthetic drug racket.
He further said that Bhola had also raised a question mark over the efficiency and integrity of the Punjab police.
He said even earlier, the chief minister has tried to save his people. He said Bibi Jagir Kaur's convection was a result of a CBI inquiry. Badal had pressurised the police not to register an FIR in the Harpreet murder case in 1999.
He said that PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa would soon file a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court demanding a CBI inquiry in to the case.
On the reports that he was joining Aam Aadmi Parti (AAP), Khaira also said that there was no question of leaving the Congress. However, he said, he was a supporter of the policies of the AAP.
