Flaying chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on the issue of allocation of portfolios among his ministers, Congress leader Sukhpal Khaira today claimed that the CM had made a mockery of the system by keeping 20 of the 49 departments with his kin.

In a press release issued here, Khaira said that Badal had himself dealt a body blow to his favourite subject of 'federal system' and 'more powers to the states', while allocating departments to his ministers.

"Badal has captured 20 of the 49 departments for self and his clan, i.e., Sukhbir, Adesh Partap and Bikram Singh Majithia.

"He has, from now onwards, forfeited his right to raise the issue of federal structure in the country and more powers to the states. It is now clear that all his earlier public statements were a farce to hoodwink the people of Punjab.

"Such centralization of power in one family to run a government is unprecedented, which the Congress condemns vociferously," he stated.
