Chandigarh: Congress former MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has on Thursday demanded to investigate alleged “suspicious” role of Bibi Jagir Kaur and her son-in-law Bhupinder Singh, alias Bhinda, who is chairman of the Kapurthala zila parishad, in the blind murder case of Sukhmanpreet Singh Talwandi, alias Sippy Sidhu, who was killed at a Sector 27 park on September 20.

In a press release, Khaira said Sippy had close relations with Bhupinder, his wife Daisy and Bibi Jagir Kaur and were partners in many real estate deals over the years. He said one such real estate deal went bad and was hanging fire in a court in Delhi between Omaxe and Ozone company owned by Bhupinder.

The release stated that the Ozone company of Bhupinder owed Omaxe Rs 5 crore that was taken as advance by his company for accumulating prime land in Amritsar in 2008 to develop a colony, but had failed to return the same. “This could be a reason behind the murder,” he stated.
