Radical Sikh outfit Dal Khalsa on Monday slammed the Punjab government for its “dilly-dallying tactics” and not arresting the principal, registrar and head of department (agriculture) of Khalsa College, Amritsar, despite registering an FIR against them for a student’s suicide. Dal Khalsa also lashed out at Khalsa College Governing Council members for its “arrogant attitude”.

Expressing grief over the death of Harpreet Singh, the Dal Khalsa and its youth wing Sikh Youth of Punjab leadership met the aggrieved family members and joined them at the protest venue.

Party president Harpal Singh Cheema, along with spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh and SYP president Paramjit Singh Tanda said the staff concerned “ill-treated” the student due to which “he felt insulted that forced him to take the extreme step”.

They said it was deplorable the management has “no courtesy to hold dialogue with the protesting students”.
