Khanna is all set to host four Kabaddi World Cup matches at AS College stadium on Wednesday. There is a huge enthusiasm among the town residents, as Khanna would be hosting the world cup matches for the first time.

Organising committee member Mahinder Singh said Punjab irrigation minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon would be the chief guest on the occasion. Punjabi singer and actor Sarabjit Cheema would enthral the audience, he added.

A total of four matches-two each from men and women section would be played. Four-time winner Indian men's team would play its first match in this town of Ludhiana district. Whereas the first time participants, Azerbaijan women team will play against Denmark.

The matches would start at 12 pm. The first match will be of pool A teams, and will be played between women's section teams of Azerbaijan and Denmark.

Second match will be of men's section from pool A, and will be played between Australia and Iran. This match would be interesting as both the teams have won one match each, and this match's result would clear the status of pool A men's section. Iran had defeated USA while Australia had defeated Spain in earlier matches.

Third match of the day would be played between pool B women's section teams of Pakistan and England. After losing the first match to New Zealand, the English team would try hard to make a comeback, as this would be an important match for them.

Last and fourth match of the day will be played between pool A teams of men's section in which four-time world champion India would take on Spain.
