Police say that Dubey, native of Allahabad, was returning home after dropping his colleague at Sector 71. The sand tipper was coming from the Kharar side and lost control at the crossing and fell on Dubey.

It took more than two hours to remove the sand and extricate Dubey’s body using a JCB . The body was removed with the help of passersby and the victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

The body has been kept at the mortuary.

The unidentified owner and the driver of the tipper have been booked under Section 279 (rash and negligent driving) at the Mataur police station. Dubey is survived by wife and three children, including two daughters.
