Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday accorded approval amounting to about `882 crore for the construction of as many as 11,259 flats for economically weaker section (EWS) of the society at various places in the state, said an official release.
Khattar also approved about `171 crore for development and construction of community centres where the flats were to be built.
Giving area-wise detail, the release said that 1,480 flats would be constructed in Sector-14 Hisar (Part-II), 1,850 flats in Sector-5 Hisar, 4,928 flats in Sector-9 Fatehabad, 400 falts in Sector-6 Agroha, 976 flats in Sector-22 Jagadhari, 203 flats in Sector-24 Jagadhari, 924 flats in Sector-9 and 32 in Karnal, and 498 flats in Sector-9 Safidon.
The release said that a sum of about `163 crore would be spent on development works including roads, water supply, sewerage, storm water, rain water harvesting system, channels, fire-fighting equipment, external electrification, solar water heating systems, shops, horticulture or landscaping, boundary wall with gate and boosting station including pump chambers.
As of now, possession of 174.62 acres land at Jagadhari, Hisar, Fatehabad, Agroha, Cheeka, Karnal, Charkhi Dadri and Saffidon has been taken for the project, the release said
