The district police have arrested Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) militant Balwinder Singh Possi's nephew Daljit Singh for his alleged involvement in terror activities.

A police team arrested Daljit as soon as he landed at the international airport on Wednesday and brought him to Hoshiarpur. He was produced in a court that sent him to 5-day police remand.

Daljt's mother Kulwinder Kaur and grandmother (Possi's mother) Salinder Kaur are already in jail. They were arrested from their house in Possi village in March. The police had claimed to have recovered a huge catch of arms from the house. Possi himself is known to be hiding in the US and proceedings are on for his extradition. He is wanted for his involvement in twin bomb blasts at the Jalandhar bus stand in April 2006, in which three people were killed.

Garhshankar DSP Gurmail Singh, who is investigating the case, said that Daljit was named in the FIR, registered on March 21 under the Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at the time of arrest of his mother and grandmother.

"The police have sufficient evidence to prove that he is an KZF operative," the DSP said.
