Labourer booked for kidnapping 24-yr-old girl in Patiala

The district police have booked a migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly kidnapping a 24-year-old girl. The victim’s father lodged a complaint with the police on Thursday. The accused was identified as Varesh, a resident of Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh.

The district police have booked a migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly kidnapping a 24-year-old girl. The victim’s father lodged a complaint with the police on Thursday. The accused was identified as Varesh, a resident of Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh.

The accused has been residing near the victim’s village Saidkheri near Rajpura and working as an assistant at a local shop. The complainant stated that the accused misguided his daughter and abducted her from their house on the pretext of marriage.

The complainant said the accused used to regularly meet his daughter without their consent. He also alleged in the complaint that the accused wanted to confine and use her for human trafficking.

A case was registered under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or compelling woman to marriage) of the IPC at the Ganda Kheri police station. No arrest has been made so far. Police said that after the registration of the case, they have started conducting raids to nab Father the accused.
