Lakshita Sharma, a third-year student of the department of computer science, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, has been selected as the Google Student Ambassador (GSA) for the college.

The selection process tested many skills required to become a symbol of learning and brand ambassador of Google products, thus contributing in Google’s outreach programme.

The Google Student Ambassador Programme is an opportunity for students to act as liaisons between Google and their universities.

These ambassadors learn about innovative Google products, programmes, plans and host fun events on the campus and act as a campus contact for Google teams.Ambassadors help Google understand each university’s culture.

Under this programme, she has undergone training at the GSA India Summit in Pune on August 28-31. Different debates, discussions, sessions, skill-building exercises and networking related competitions were held during the event.

“The summit was a great learning and fun experience and will be a stepping stone for me,” she added.
