Balram Jakhar, 92, former Lok Sabha speaker, passed away in New Delhi on Wednesday morning. He was ill from a long time.
Jakhar served as Speaker of Lok Sabha from 1980 to 1989 during which he contributed to the establishment of Parliament Museum.
As the news of his death broke, social media was flooded with grief and shock over the demise of agriculture minister in the cabinet of former prime minister Narasimha Rao.
His son, Sunil Jakhar is a Congress MLA from Abohar and former CLP leader.

Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh expressed himself on Facebook , he wrote
