Local bodies minister Chunni Lal Bhagat on Friday flayed Centre government for unnecessary hike in the price of diesel by Rs 5 per litre and capping the supply of subsidised domestic LPG cylinders.
The minister demanded an immediate withdrawal of this hike.
"The recent hike of diesel and cooking gas was absolutely unrealistic and arbitrary, and it would put an additional burden on the farming community", said Bhagat.
He immediately demanded the roll back of diesel price along with cooking gas as a major reprieve to the common man.
He allayed the increase in the prices of diesel would also result in hike in the transportation and freight charges thereby considerably impacting the consumer market.
He also asked Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Captain Amarinder Singh to stage dharna against the union government for the sake of public and society.
"He has been doing so against state government, now should stand for common man", said Bhagat.
