The Jalandhar Cataract and Refractive Club in association with Thind Eye Hospital organized continuing medical education symposium at the hospital premises wherein live surgery was performed infront of eye care professionals.
The highlight of the surgery was the implant of KAMRA inlay which was demonstrated live using latest and most advanced techniques to all the delegates by JS Thind, chief eye surgeon, Thind Eye Hospital
Thind informed, “KAMRA is an intra-corneal inlay designed to create a small aperture effects allowing the eye to see near and intermediate objects more clearly while maintaining distance vision. By applying the depth of focus principle commonly used in photography, the KAMRA inlay controls light transmission, allowing only central rays to reach the retina through a fixed 1.6mm aperture. More than 20,000 KAMRA inlays have been implemented and it is available for sale in 47 countries”, he added.
Dr Kumar and Dr Noushin Shroff performed blade free cataract surgery which provides precise, predictable, controlled and best surgical outcomes. While Dr Rajat Dhesi and Dr Shobit Chawla from Lucknow gave demonstration of top of the line toric and multifocal IOL implantation, thus encouraging spectacle free vision.
As many as 370 delegates from all across the country attended the symposium.
