The Division Number 7 police on Thursday booked a dairy owner for allegedly exploiting his domestic help for 13 years.

The accused has been identified as Joginder Pal Bhatia alias Bittu of Guru Arjun Dev Nagar.

In her complaint, the 34-year-old woman, a resident of Jaswant Nagar, alleged that she was domestic help in the house of the accused for the past 13 years.

She said the accused lured her that he would get her a new house, if she kept physical relations with him. She alleged that the accused used to take her to his dairy and used to exploit her physically.

When she used to ask him about the house the accused used to defer it. One day, when she had resisted and asked him for the house, the accused expelled her from the job and also threatened her with dire consequences, she alleged.

Following her complaint, the Division Number 7 police registered a case under sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian penal Code (IPC) against the accused.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Pavittar Singh, who is investigating the matter, said the police have launched a manhunt for the arrest of the accused.
