The Sahnewal police on Thursday arrested Vicky for allegedly abducting and attempting to rape a 16-year-old Ludhiana girl, who was later immolated allegedly by a group of youths. He is not accused in the December 4 immolation case.

With Vicky’s arrest, all accused have fallen in police net. He had been absconding since October 29 when the abduction and rape attempt case was registered. Those accused of the immolation are Shahjad, Anwar, Babbu, Amarjit, Chhotu, Binder and Balli, who were named by the girl.

Rupinder Kaur, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), south, confirmed that Vicky was arrested from Ludhiana, and said he had gone to Bihar to evade arrest earlier.
