The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe the murder of two brothers –Jatinder Singh and Harinder Singh, who were allegedly gunned down by SAD leader Gurjit Singh and police officials on September 27 at Ahluwalia Colony of Jamalpur, visited Ludhiana for investigation, on Saturday.

SIT supervisors additional deputy general of police (ADGP) crime VK Bhawra and inspector general Ishwar Singh met the Joint Action Committee (JAC), which includes members from various political parties, at Police Lines.

Tarsem Jodhan from CPI (M) said, “The report was to be submitted within fifteen days but it is more than 45 days now and no action has been taken. The police said they were yet to get the arrest warrant of dismissed Macchiwara SHO Manjinder Singh who is still absconding and thus, would take a few more days to finalise the probe report.”

Jodhan added that if police failed to submit the report in the coming week, the committee would protest to get justice for the family of the brothers.
