The Punjab Athletics Association along with SPS Hospitals will organise a mini marathon in the city on March 20.
Speaking on the occasion Atul Behll, vice-president, SPS Hospitals said, “ We are going to organise a half marathon “SPS 10km RUN”on March 20 with the support of Punjab Athletics Association. As a responsible corporate, SPS Hospitals has always endeavoured to make a contribution towards creating a healthier Ludhiana through various public awareness programs.”
Satvir Singh Atwal, additional deputy commissioner police and president of Punjab Athletics Association said there are three categories for half marathon; professional (males), amateur (run for fun) both male and female. There will be 10 km run for professionals and for amateurs it will be 4 km.
The run will start from Guru Nanak Stadium and go through Fountain Chowk, Pavilion Mall Chowk, Dandi Swami Road, Haibowal Chowk, Kitchlu Nagar, Aarti Palace Chowk, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Durga Mata Mandir before concluding at Guru Nanak Stadium itself.
Abhijeet Singh,director SPS hospitals said, there are six prizes in the professionals category. The winner will get `1 lakh, runner-up Rs 60,000, second runner up Rs 45,000, the runners who reach fourth, fifth and sixth position will get Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
In amateur category the winner will get` 15,000, runner up will get `10,000 and second runner up will get ` 5,000. Registrations are open till March 15. For registrations contact numbers are 8872097900, 8872027390 and 8872027308
