A 17-year-old boy was found dead at a shop, where he had been working for the last four years, on Gaushala road on Tuesday. His father has accused the shopowner for the murder, who is said to be at large. The division number 3 police are waiting for the viscera report for further course of action.

The deceased has been identified as Jay Chand of Madhopuri. He used to sleep at the shop at night where he worked. On Tuesday morning, he was found dead under mysterious circumstances. The shop owner, Vipan Kumar, took the body to civil hospital without informing anyone, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased's father, Munni Lal, a rickshaw puller, said, "The shopkeeper has murdered my son, who had been working there for the last four years." Munni Lal told police that the shopkeeper used to thrash his son most often.

"The shopkeepers nearby informed me about the death of Jay Chand. I rushed to the shop where I came to know that Vipan Kumar had taken the body to civil hospital. When I reached the hospital, the shopkeeper told me that Jay Chand hanged himself in the shop," said Munni Lal.

"My son cannot commit suicide. I am sure that the shopkeeper has murdered my son," he alleged.

Inspector Randhir Singh, division number 3 station house officer (SHO) said the shopkeeper was absconded. The police have been waiting for the autopsy report for further action.

The three doctors- Dr Sandeep Kaur, Dr Ramninder Kaur and Dr Gurmeet Singh- who conducted the postmortem, said injury marks were found on the neck of the deceased. To ascertain the actual cause of the death, the doctors have sent the viscera for chemical examination.
