Many organisations in the city have come forward and donated goods and cash for the flood-ravaged areas in Chennai.
On Thursday, ‘Rahat -The Safe Community Foundation’, donated generously after collecting items of daily use and needs for the Chennai victims. Raahat volunteers collected clothes, bedsheets, blankets, grocery items, quilts along with other household necessities, which people are deprived of in Chennai.
Raminder Soi, president of Rahat, said the foundation is dedicated to serving the humanity. He added that the foundation has treated over 100 patients free of cost at Krishna Charitable Hospital, Christian Medical College and Dayanand Medical College and Hospital among others.
Many industrial associations and organisations in Ludhiana also pitched in recently and donated goods and funds for the flood victims.
