The Shimlapuri police have booked six persons in connection with a sodomy case that took place at juvenile home in Shimlapuri last year.

According to the victim, who was lodged at the juvenile home for abducting a minor girl on the pretext of marriage and raping her, he was sodomised by six of his fellow inmates on the intervening night of June 14 and 15 last year. He had complained in the court of chief judicial magistrate on June 21, 2014, following which he was shifted to observation home at Faridkot.

On the court orders, the victim was got medically examined and now after receiving swap report, the police registered a case under Sections 377 (sodomy) and 34 of the IPC against the six inmates on Wednesday. The cops have contacted the officials of the juvenile home for investigation in this context. All of the six accused had fled the jail one week after the incident. Three were nabbed later on while the rest are still at large.

The victim said the accused had dragged him to their barrack at 2am on the intervening night of June 14 and 15 to commit the crime.

The accused, who are said to have sodomised the boy, are facing the charges of rape, burglary and snatching.

Though the juvenile home officials said that the victim didn't complain to them, the complainant had mentioned that he narrated the entire episode to superintendent Manjinder Singh and caretaker Darbara Singh.

Manjinder said the boy didn't share the incident and complained directly in the court. "We came to know about it from the court," he claimed.

When asked how many caretakers are there at the juvenile home at night, the superintendent refused to comment on it.
