In yet another incident of sexual crime against minors, two men allegedly raped the 17-year-old daughter of their friend in Jain Colony on Friday.

The accused, identified as Krishna Prasad, 42, and Nand Lal Sharma, 36, have been arrested.

It was the victim’s mother who approached the police.

In her statement to the police, the woman, a resident of Jain Colony, said Krishna and Nand lived as tenants on the first floor the house, which they had also rented. She said they were friends with her husband.

The complainant alleged that on Friday, while she and her husband were away, to duo came to their house and on finding their 16-year-old daughter alone, raped her, before fleeing the scene.

When she returned home, her daughter narrated the incident to her, following which she lodged an FIR.

Assistance sub-inspector (ASI) Sukhpal Kaur, who is investigating the matter, said, the police had arrested the accused on Saturday when they were trying to flee the city to evade arrest. A case of rape has been registered.

Earlier on April 18, a labourer allegedly raped his 14-year-old colleague in the bathroom of a factory in Focal Point area and fled.
