The employees of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have been complaining about "poor services"being offered at the State Bank of Patiala (SBOP), PAU.

The salary as well as the other accounts of the PAU staff members are with this branch. The visitors at the bank say that the branch is opened late most often and the employees take long lunch breaks.

AP Singh, chief editor of PAU's Progressive Farming magazine, said, "The services at this bank are pathetic. It takes about two hours just to deposit money. They give visitors tokens to wait for their turn but the process takes a lot of time. The staff is also unfriendly and there is always staff shortage. I complained to the manager but he told that he was helpless."

A senior economist at PAU, Mohinder Singh Sidhu, said, "It has been months since we are getting such a service. Why can't bank staff become efficient and courteous? They are not worried about their customers. Most of time, their computers are not functional due to which customers suffer a lot."

Another visitor, Balbir Singh, said, "A few days ago, I came into the bank at 11am but my turn came at around 3pm. The employees of the branch do not came on time after the lunch break. I have told the manager but he always ignores the problems of the visitors."

The branch manager could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
