Ludhiana: Woman doctor commits suicide

In a shocking incident, a female doctor at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan in girls’ hostel late on Monday evening.

In a shocking incident, a female doctor at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan in girls’ hostel late on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Supriya (27), student of 2nd year, department of paediatrics at DMCH.

When the colleagues of the deceased found her hanging, they informed other doctors and police. According to police, the deceased belonged to Jalandhar city. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be probed.

DR Harmesh Singh Bains, head of department of paediatrics at DMCH, said the police are investigating the matter and the reason behind the suicide will be known later.
