The regular faculty teachers of two government colleges in the city - government college for girls and SCD Government college - have also not received salaries since December.

There are 95 regular teachers in both government colleges who haven't received their salary.

Talking to the HT, a government school teacher on the condition of anonymity said, "We have not received salary since December and it is becoming difficult to run the house. The government must release our salary in time. We impart education to thousands of students and it is becoming difficult for us to pay the fee of our own children."

Being the only earning member, it is has become almost impossible to run the house. I have taken loan from a friend to pay the school fee of my children."

When contacted, director, public instructions (secondary), Kamal Garg said, "I am aware that the teachers of government schools have not received their salary for the past two months. But we are helpless as we have not received the revised budget allocation from the government."

SCD Government College principal Rajinder Singh said, "Owing to some budget allocation problem, the teachers have not received their salary. But, they should not worry as the higher authorities will release their salary in the next 2-3 days."
