Aggarwal community offers to give free computer education

 The Aggarwal community is ready to give free computer education to the people of Punjab, if it is provided with space.

Pradeep Mittal, national chairman of the Akhil Bharti Aggarwal Sangathan, made the offer to chief minister Parkash Singh Badal here on Sunday during the leader's visit to a community's function dedicated to Maharaj Agrasen. "You provide us with the places in villages, towns and cities, and the Aggarwal Samaj will give free computer education to the people of all age groups," said Mittal.

The community wants an important office for Amrit Lal Aggarwal, state head of Aggarwal Sammelan, and a chapter on Maharaj Agrasen in the school curriculum. Mittal promised Badal support in the coming Lok Sabha elections and the CM said he was grateful.

CM reassures industry

Addressing the industrialists' and businessmen's grouse against the Punjab government over excessive tax, the CM stated the taxes in Punjab were least in the country. Later, a press conference, he said the industrialists had a wrong idea about the e-trip system, which was for streamlining information.

"In case the industrialists face any harassment, they are free to contact me and I will look into the complaints," said Badal. "A committee will look into the matter of regularising old colonies under the new policy," he added.

Cabinet minister Sharanjeet Singh Dhillon; Mahesh Inder Singh Gewal, adviser to the CM; legislator SR Kaler; and jathedar Santa Singh Umedpuri, chairman of Punjab State Subordinate Services Selection Board, were present.
