Teachers working in aided schools will meet the chief minister Parkash Singh Badal at Chandigarh on January 8. They will put forth the demand of merger of aided schools with government schools and pending salary before the CM, hoping that the matter would be considered by the Punjab government.

Savinderjit Kaur, district president, Punjab Aided School Teachers' and other Employees' Union said,” This is height of insensibility on the part of education department and finance department. The department has not given us the salaries from the past three months.”

Union's general secretary Gurmit Singh Madnipur said, “As a single earning hand of the family, I am passing through a state of severe financial penury. The ways of education department and finance department are strange.”

“Punjab and Haryana high court has directed the secretary, education; director, schools; and the managements of the said schools to release the salary of the aided schools employees on the seventh of every month, but the authorities are violating the orders. It is becoming difficult to run the house,” said Davinder Rehan, press secretary of the union.
