Ann Jal Sewa Trust NGO celebrates Rakhi with patients

Members of Ann Jal Sewa Trust, non government organisation (NGO), celebrated the Rakhi festival with the patients of Lord Mahavira Civil Hospital on Sunday.

Shivram Saroay, president of the NGO said just like last year, this year too they celeberated Rakhi with the patients, whose family members were not present there. He added that his organisation celebrated this festival with them in order to provide them mental support.

He said the NGO provides free meals to patients and their relatives, who are unable to afford it.

Shilpi, a patient at the hospital, who is suffering from Tuberculosis, said "I tied Rakhi to the members of the NGO as my brother is in Mumbai and was not able to come as we are not so strong financially. I felt happy after tying Rakhi on the wrist of the NGO president".

Rajni, who is deprieved of a house to stay, said "As none of my family members are here, I tied Rakhi to Shivram and felt good about it. I regularly come to this organisation and am offered free food by the members. I live on a footpath and do not have enough money to buy food for myself".
