The AS, and head constable Harnek Singh were arrested under Section 294 (for annoying others) and 342 (illegal detention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 10 of the Protection of Child from Sexual Offences on Tuesday.

Sukesh Kalia, member of the Punjab Commission for Protection of Child Rights, who first noticed the incident, took up the matter with police, urging them to investigate into the case and to take appropriate action against the guilty.

Kalia said the commission had been taking the matter of atrocity on children seriously.

A few months back, the commissions had rescued and rehabilitate a 9-year-old girl, who was allegedly battered by a lady and her daughter and brandished with hot iron rods.

Teachers need to shape students as nation builders, says Kalam

Creativity is the key to success in the future, and primary education is where teachers can bring creativity in children at that level. A great teacher is one who will improve the level of students who are poor in studies. This was stated by former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at Satya Bharti Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Sherpur Kalan, Ludhiana, on Friday.
