The State Information Commission has issued bialable warrant against municipal corporation's assistant town planner-cum-public information officer (PIO) Rajinder Sharma after he failed to appear and produce records before the commission.
Advocate Dev Raj Sharma had filed an appeal to the commission because the requisite record was not shown to him, when he went for inspection of records at The MC's office on December 23, 2013. He had filed an RTI for inspecting some records, for which permission was granted to him.
Following the Sharma's appeal, commission took a serious note and issued a show-cause notice to Rajinder, but the PIO was absent without intimating the commission.
Taking action on this, commission has now directed Ludhiana police commissioner to serve bailable warrant to Rajinder Sharma to appear before the bench of State Information Commission, Punjab, on February 19, 2014 and produce the relevant record.
Contacted, Rajinder Sharma said he was issued bialable warrant, but he claimed that he had provided all documents.
