A city-based Punjab and Haryana high court lawyer Harpreet Sandhu visited Institute of Legal Education and Legal Courts in Bangkok where he met top lawyers of the country to understand the legal system of Thailand on Tuesday.

Under the leadership of Sarawut Benjakul, secretary general of the institute, he was made to understand the legal system, common laws of Thailand, functioning of the criminal court and office of the judiciary.

“During the personal visits to the court rooms, I observed that there is lot of difference between courts of India and Thailand. The first and foremost difference is the pin drop silence maintained in the courts. Above all, they stress a lot on legal education from time to time which helps in enhancing legal skills and knowledge of the lawyers”, said Sandhu over phone.

Later, Sandhu presented his legal book ‘German Indian Law - a comparative study’ to Trakul Vinigaiyapark, the attorney general of Thailand. On the other hand, he was also presented the judiciary of Thailand for his upcoming comparative study on Thailand law and functioning.
