The local police on Monday claimed to have solved a recent burglary case at a house with the arrest of three juveniles.
The accused are residents of Sanjay Gandhi Colony, and are aged between 15 and 17. The police produced the accused before the court that sent them to juvenile home on production remand.
Giving details about the arrest, inspector Sumit Sood, station house officer (SHO), Division Number 7 police station, said the police arrested the accused following a tip-off. The accused were attempting to sell the stolen articles, when the police arrested them and recovered an LCD television, a DVD player and a laptop from their possession.
The SHO said the accused had stolen these articles from the house of Ashok Kumar of Sector 32-A of Chandigarh road.
Kumar had gone to Bathinda to visit his relatives on June 8 and returned on June 13, and was shocked to find the house ransacked. In the FIR lodged at Division Number 7 police station on June 14, Kumar claimed that the burglars had stolen an LCD television, a DVD player, a mobile phone, a laptop and Rs. 5,000 in cash.
The SHO said the accused told the police that it was their first attempt at burglary, and they took to crime to make easy money.
