A couple was booked for allegedly installing a hidden camera in the trial room of their showroom on Mall Road here, police said on Tuesday.

The woman complainant told the police that she had gone to the ready-made garments shop to pick some clothes.

There, she noticed a pencil-like spy camera in the trial room, following which she came out and raised the issue with the owner of the City Style showroom, identified as Rohit Sahni. However, he threatened her by claiming to have connections with higher police officials and politicians, police said.

The angry customer then lodged a complaint at the nearby police station, following which the police reached the showroom and confiscated the camera.

During investigation, the police found recording of six women while changing clothes from the spycam.

Ludhiana deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Nilambri Jagdale said a case under section 354-C (voyeurism) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the owner of the showroom and his wife, who were at large.
