Couple, five-year-old daughter killed in mishap

In a dreadful incident, a couple and their five-year-old daughter were killed, while four suffered severe injuries, after their two motorcycles rammed into a water tanker parked on the roadside near South City on late Sunday night.

The injured were rushed to civil hospital where their condition is stated to be critical.

The deceased have been identified as Jagdev Kumar, 35, of Phullanwal village of Ludhiana, his wife Kamlesh, 32, and daughter Nisha. The injured are Jagdev's brother Bhanu, 18, sons Rakesh, 3, Arjun, 1, and daughter Krishna, 1.

Jagdev's another brother Jagdish Parshad said they were 12 persons returning home on three motorcycles after attending a birthday party at their relative's house in South City on Sunday night. Meanwhile, due to the dark, two motorcycles riden by Jagdev and Bhanu rammed into a water tanker parked on the roadside near South City.

Jagdev, Kamlesh and Nisha were killed on the spot, while passers-by informed the Ambulance service 108 that took the injured to the hospital.
