City residents bursted firecrackers to enjoy the Festival of Lights, but it led to around 45 fire incidents on Tuesday, including factories and houses in the city, which kept the fire brigade officers on toes throughout the night. These incidents led to loss worth crores of rupees.

According to additional divisional fire officer (ADFO), the fire brigade pressed 175 fire tenders to douse flames. At some places flames were so violent and the fire brigade staff have to struggle a lot to control it.

The ADFO said the fire brigade was prepared to cope with the situation. Fire tenders were already present at different places in the city to decrease respond time.
