DCC celebrates 69th birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi

The 69th birth anniversary of the slain Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was celebrated as 'Sadbhavna Diwas' (Harmony Day) by the District Congress Committee (DCC) Urban on Tuesday.


Addressing the party workers at Congress Bhawan, DCC chief Pawan Dewan asked the party men to follow the footsteps of Rajiv Gandhi.

He said the younger generation would have to come forward for fulfilling the dreams of Rajiv Gandhi who laid down his life for the unity and integrity of the nation.

He said the slain leader bought forward the youths and got them the right to vote at the age of 18. Former DCC president KK Bawa also spoke on the occasion.

Senior deputy leaders, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (LMC); Rakesh Prashar, Parminder Mehta, Sham Sunder Malhotra, Rakesh Sharma, Palwinder Taggar, Jarnail Shimlapuri, Manpreet Grewal, Gurmukh Singh Mithu, Sanjay Sharma, Kanwardeep Puppi were among those present at the event.
