On Saturday, around 15 committee members of the dera, including women and more than 50 followers came to meet the DCP and gathered outside his office. They also held a brief protest before the police commissioner office.

Dharampal Insan from Dugri who had lodged complaint against Sukhjinder said: “They want the accused to be arrested immediately. An first information report (FIR) was lodged on June 22.”
Insan said police officials had assured them of taking action on Friday, but did nothing.
The dera followers would intensify their protest if accused was not arrested by Sunday morning, he said.

The DCP said: “The police have been questioning a friend of the accused,” adding he said: “The police would arrest the accused soon.”Earlier on Friday, the dera followers blocked Ferozepur Road for almost nine hours for not taking any action against the accused which brought city to a standstill and even the vehicles crossing the national highway were stuck on one side of the city.
