At a meeting of party leaders and workers of the Ludhiana district on Wednesday, Congress MLA Jagmohan Singh Kang asked them to attend the installation ceremony of Partap Singh Bajwa as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) in Chandigarh on March 23.

Kang has been appointed as observer for the installation ceremony, who is responsible to gather a large number of workers on the occasion.

Addressing the party workers at the meeting, Kang asked them to unite against the state government by showcasing their strength. All the party workers should reach in large gathering from Ludhiana, he added.

Hailing the decision of Congress president Sonia Gandhi to appoint Bajwa as chief of the Punjab Congress, Kang said, "Bajwa is an experienced leader and a right person to lead the state Congress. Huge gathering during Bajwa's visit to the Golden Temple clearly indicates that the party leaders are happy with Bajwa's appointment."

District Congress president Pawan Dewan assured Kang that large number of workers from Ludhiana district would witness the installation ceremony.
