Factory supervisor stabbed, robbed

Two motorcycle-borne miscreants stabbed a factory worker in his chest and fled with cash and a gold ring on the Noorwala Road on Thursday afternoon.

The victim was rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where he is undergoing a surgery but his condition is stated to be critical.

The victim, Dharam Parkash Jain, 55, a resident of New Madhopuri, works at Hardik Knit Craft factory on the Noorwala Road as a supervisor.

He was attacked when he left the factory at around 1.15pm for lunch on his motorcycle and two motorcycle-borne miscreants intercepted him near the factory.

The miscreants hit him hard from the back, after which, he fell down on the road with a jerk. They also stabbed with a sharpedged weapon in the chest and fled away after snatching his wallet and a gold ring.

Noticing Jain lying on the road and bleeding excessively, factory workers raised the alarm and rushed him to the hospital.

Meanwhile, inspector Randhir Singh, station house officer (SHO), Basti Jodhewal police station, said police had recorded the statement of the victim and were probing into the matter.
