Fog forces pvt schools to change timings

Due to chilly and foggy weather conditions, several private schools in the city have changed their timings. This news will bring a relief to the parents, students and teachers.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Mona Singh, principal of Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, said, "In view of foggy weather, we have changed the school timings, from Friday the school will start at 9 am instead of 8.30 am. As a precautionary measure, we have decided to give winter break to nursery wing from December 25 and for senior wing from December 29. However, the school will re-open on January 7 for senior classes.  For nursery wing the school will re-open on January 15."

Navita Puri, principal of Kundan Vidya Mandir School, Civil Lines, said, "We have changed the school timings as from Saturday the school will start at 9 am to 3 pm. We will inform the students and parents tomorrow. The winter break will start from January 1 to January 14."

Principal of Shamrock Christian School, Pradeep Singh said, "We have changed the timings for the students on Thursday and now the school starts at 9.30 am till 3 pm. The winter vacations will start from January 1 to 14. If the weather will worsen in the next few days, than we will suspend the classes for kindergarten from December 23."

DB Sharma, director of Sat Paul Mittal School, Dugri, said, "We have changed the school timings. The school will start at 9 am to 2.30 pm from Monday. The winter vacations will start from January 1 to January 14."

Kamalpreet Kaur, headmistress of Spring Dale Senior Secondary School, said, "Due to chilly weather, we have changed the school timings from 9.15 am to 2.45. The winter break will start from January 1."
Sushil Kumar, a parent said, "My daughter is studying in kindergarten of Guru Nanak Public school and the change in school timings is a big relief. The kids are finding it tough as the weather is getting colder day by day."

Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar: December 25 to January 2
BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar:  December 29 to January 5
DAV Public school, Pakhowal Road: December 28 to January 7
Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town: December 30 till January 4
Bal Bharati Public School, Dugri: January 1 to January 14.
