Former minister for health and family welfare Satpal Gosain has written a letter to deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal asking him to complete the pending projects in the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2014.

In his letter, Gosain has written that work on Budhha nullah from Gurdwara Dukhnivaran Sahib to civil hospital should be initiated as soon as possible.

Gosain also wrote regarding different projects work on which work had been stalled for long. He mentioned storm sewer at Janakpuri, covering of nullah at Shivaji Nagar and laying of storm sewer on Link road.

“Condition of roads at Transport Nagar is appalling. The area supplies goods to the world, but the poor condition of roads in the area negatively impacts the business. Roads should be repaired as soon as possible,” the letter stated.

Covering of Buddha Nullah from Gurdwara Dukhnivaran Sahib to civil hospital has been mired in controversies.

A scam of Rs. 1.75 crore in the project was unearthed in which names of five top officials of the municipal corporation had surfaced. An inquiry was also marked in the scam in 2008. The issue started in 2004 when the tenders for the covering of nullah were invited.
