'Induction training is a boon for newly-inducted teachers'

A five-day induction training for newly inducted government school teachers was concluded at Government In-service Training Centre on Friday.

The training was conducted to apprise teachers about educational techniques, child development and child psychology vis-à-vis school students and the need to take care of the children with special needs in government schools.

The programme was run under SSA, on the instruction of director general of school education, Punjab.

Twenty-two teachers appreciated the programme and pledged to contribute for the development of education in the state.

One of the participants, Lakhwinder Pal Singh lauded the role of GISTC in hosting such kind of induction training course for the newly appointed teachers.

Another teacher, Sat Kartar Singh said, “Induction training course is a boon for us and such kind of workshops update the knowledge of the teachers.”

Most of the teachers demanded that future induction training programmes should run for more days, so that more educational interactions could be conducted.

Course coordinator and lecturer Pradeep Kumar Kapoor, expressed satisfaction over the response of the teachers towards this teacher training meet. He asked teachers to extend full attention towards the educational career of their students and strengthen the development of the school system.

He shared his educational experiences with the teachers. Officiating head of GISTC Sneh Saini asked the teachers to contribute for the quality education in the school system and make teaching-learning process more absorbing, so as to check the drop out-rate in the government schools.

Teacher-educator and motivator Dr Davinder Singh Chhina delivered a key lecture on teacher-motivation and asked teachers to concentrate on expectations and motivations of the students, as well as fulfill their environmental needs.
