Police commissioner Sanjiv Kalra has asked all gun house owners to give information of licensed weapons deposited with them to the police stations concerned.

Issuing orders under section 144 of the CrPC, the police commissioner said the gun house owners should mention make of weapon, its number, arms licence number, name and full address of the holder in a receipt and pass the information to the police stations concerned.

He said it had been learnt that some gun house owners used to hand over weapons to holders instead of keeping them with them during elections, adding that this should be avoided as weapons could be misused.

He also asked gun house owners to return the arms to the holders seven days after removal of model code of conduct.
