Inter-school shabad gayan contest held at GGN Public school

GGN Public School, Rose Garden, organised an inter-school Shabad Gyan contest on Tuesday in the fond memory of Giani Raghbir Singh, one of the founder members of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, Ludhiana.
A total of 13 teams of different schools participated in the contest. School principal S Karnail Singh welcomed all the guests, teachers and participants.
The chief guest of the occasion was president of Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib S Pritpal Singh. All participants rendered shabads based on ragas as set in Sri Guru Granth Sahib and created the divine ambience.

On the occasion, former pro vice-chancellor of GNDU Prithipal Singh Kapur, and president of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council acquainted the audience with the life and contributions of Giani Raghbir Singh and history of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council.

Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, bagged the first prize followed by team of GNI, Model Town, and third prize was won by team of SKSK Educational Institute. Team of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar got the consolation prize.

Mandeep Singh of SKSK Educational Institute was adjudged the best tabla player. Overall trophy was clinched by team of Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar.
