JRF/NET on June 29; apply online by May 5

University Grant Commission (UGC) has issued the notification for the national eligibility test (NET) and junior research fellowship (JRF) exam for June 2014. The exam will be held on June 29. UGC has invited online applications for the exam through its official website

The last date to apply online is May 5, and last date of online fee submission is May 7.


Candidates can receive the printout of the application form till May 10. To be a lecturer as per UGC norms, it is necessary to clear NET exam.

The candidates can apply for attaining eligibility for lectureship or junior research fellowship or both.

The UGC NET aspirants from the city have showed good results in the past. SCD Gover nment College also has a research centre of the Panjab University due to which the number of aspirants is also increasing.

SCD Gover nment Colle g e professor Hardip Singh said, “When the students have all facilities in the city, their interest for such test increases automatically. Now, we have a research centre of Hindi, but gradually more research centres could be opened in the city.”

As per the guidelines of UGC, students must fall in top 15 % of their respective subjects to qualify NET.
