Khalsa College students shine in university/varsity exams

Students of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, excelled in the MSc mathematics examination.

Priyanka Dixit and Sunita Kumari of MSc third semester secured the second and third university positions by getting 76.2% and 76% marks respectively. While their batch mates Monika Sharma and Manjot Kaur secured the eighth and the ninth university positions respectively.

Hittu of MSc first semester secured the first position in college and ninth position in the university by getting 77.2% marks.

The position holders credited their success to regular studies and hard work put in by them and their teachers.

President Pritpal Singh Grewal and vice-president Dr SS Grewal of the managing committee congratulated the principal Varinder Kaur Thind and the staff of mathematics department for their sincere efforts in generating good results.

Dengue rampant in citywith three more cases

Three more dengue cases were confirmed in the city on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases in state to 20. Three patients, a 40-year-male from Haibowal Kalan, admitted to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), a 42-year-old female from Laddowal admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) and a 60-year-old male from Ferozepur, admitted to the DMCH, were tested positive for dengue fever.
